This past weekend I had the privilege of shooting a family portrait with 4 different generations, this was a great experience for me since one of the women is an huge inspiration to me and a very close friend. When I sent her a sample image via text, she let me know how grateful she was and stated that they were glad to have done it because you never know it could be the last time everyone was together for pictures. That made me think about not having many pictures with my father, although I have tons of memories my children, and nephew will never know my father. I truly think that capturing families and portraits of children is one of my favorite things about the job. Hope to capture more images in the future that mean something to someone.

I know its been a while since I posted but have been dealing with several personal issues with the anniversary of the passing of my father and fathers day, however I have still been working and the next few months be prepared for plenty of new work. Also the calendar should be done by the end of summer for the coming year. I have some more personal projects in the works, with people telling their stories. This has become a passion and an outlet for myself by helping people tell their stories using photography. Hope everyone enjoys these stories I would love to hear some feedback on the photo stories I have been sharing.

As I am about a week away from probably one of the toughest days ever (the year anniversary of my father passing) With it just a week away I have been thinking about him a lot more than normal. I really miss him. As a tribute to him I am dedicating the May inspirational people to him by featuring people who have lost loves one. I plan on shooting them this coming week and posting their stories. Feel free to share yours as well.

As my birthday approaches and the one year anniversary of my fathers passing approaches I have to thank god for another day, and the opportunities I have gotten in the past year. I have recently been asked to cover my first Kentucky Derby event and also tomorrow I will get the chance to shoot the backside at Churchill Downs for the first time. Getting a chance to shoot one of the most historic places and some of the most historic horse races. This summer I will be taking time to shoot more and more, starting the SCARS TO TELL A STORY project and my inspirational stories. Due to scheduling differences we were not able to get together so in MAY I plan on getting two stories out.
Looking forward to working with everyone in the future.

For those who do not know, I lost my father almost a year ago to heart failure. It happened on May 24, 2013 and there is not a day that goes by that I do not remember or think about him. As this anniversary of his death comes up many things in life have changed some for the best and some for the worse. I am having a tough time dealing with many things and photography is one of the things that keep my mind off of missing him. Without my amazing girlfriend I do not know what I would do she keeps me grounded and is an outlet for me to talk to and vent with. I know parts of him are still with me and he would want me to keep pushing on and becoming the best person, boyfriend, and photographer that I can be. So I continue to push myself and try to accomplish everything. I have however decided to take a break from my Masters program because I was not able to mentally give it my all. I want to thank everyone who reads these blogs, visits my website or Facebook page, or likes a picture on our social media sites. You guys push me to continue as well.

We started our Facebook page on Dec 1,2012, and went into business in March of 2013, as of today we have over 1100 likes and I want to thank each and every person who has liked a post or our page, shared our page or an image, competed in our contest or referred us to someone, and those who have allowed me to be a part of their story by capturing important images. Last year I organized, designed and collaborated with many talented people and did a charity calendar and each of those people I want to say Thank you to you. Also got a chance to work with many talented models, and photographers. I want to give a special thanks to Max Sharp, Tim Buckman, Donna Elble, Clay Cook and Yono for always answering questions whether it be about lighting, or equipment, or for assisting me. I also want to thank my family including my girlfriend (Megean) and her sister (Morgan) for always supporting me and my crazy ideas even if they don’t agree with them. I want to thank Pamela Bratcher for giving me the opportunity to work with several beautiful pageant girls, Chris Weber and Juliauna for becoming not only amazing clients but great friends. I also want to thank my parents especially father who passed last May, but he supported me from day 1 and is motivation for me to succeed and become better than him (if possible) and mom you have always supported what I have done and that means a lot. I also want to thank my brother (Adam) and sister in law (Deana) for bringing a beautiful young baby boy into this world for me to capture his special moments as well as their other two boys. I hope that this year in business is even better than last, looking forward to working with many more people this coming year.
Thank you again.

This past weekend I shot two wonderful sessions, first was 6 month portraits for Trey and Tiffany's son Hunter. It is always great to help capture memories for parents. After a wonderful session with Hunter, I got a chance to shoot with a wonderful young lady Taylor, who competes in pageants and also runs several throughout the state. It was great to get back outdoors and shoot while the weather was nice.
Capturing beautiful images in nature is one of my favorite things about photography. These images will be used in her upcoming pageants as she attempts to qualify for the Miss Kentucky pageant.
In other great new one of our clients Juliauna was accepted into two major fashion shows for this spring, she used comp cards that we designed for her. She also won the overall community service award this past weekend at a pageant in town. Congratulations Jules.

As of today March 4,2014 I am going to try and start blogging either about photography or my personal story in life and things I am going through. I started helping people tell their stories through photos and realized I have a story to tell. We all have a story to tell and we should not be afraid of telling these stories. More than likely someone around you has or is going through the same thing.
I am going to post about different things I have going on within my photography business and personal life. Letting you get a inside look into my life. Join and follow me on this journey.
